Ride and raise funds for Rotary at the Carnival City Macsteel National Classic

The main purpose of the event is to raise money for local charities, particularly in support of Rotary Projects, The Rotary Foundation and the further development of amateur cycling in South Africa.

Entries have opened for Carnival City Macsteel National Classic, which takes place October 26 and 27.

The race will be hosted by Germiston Rotary and Germiston Wheelers Cycle Club and there is a race and distance for everyone.

There will be a 60km and 34km MTB race, as well as a 6 to 12km MTB event for children, on Saturday from 7am.

On Sunday, the road cycle race takes place from 6am, and is perfectly placed on the calendar as a warm-up ride for the Discovery 947 Ride Joburg event three weeks later.

Distances of 110km and 58km on a relatively flat course means it is possible to ride the full distance without walking.

At the same time, from 7am, the third edition of the trail run, with distances of 5km, 10km and 21km, will take place.

The 5km event is also pet friendly, so your furry friends are welcome too.

Online entries are open and can be accessed through https://germistonclassic.co.za/enter-now/
