Last Saturday, the club also held their regular Gingers Golf Day.

Golfer Bruce Gardner says: “We really thought the golf may be washed out due to the weather forecast, but it cleared nicely in the morning to enable our field of 45-odd players to have a most enjoyable round in the pleasant cool weather.

“The scores reflected the more difficult course following the plentiful rains of the past two weeks and certainly the whole course is looking wonderful and the fairways lovely and lush too.

“Our thanks to Rob von Velzen and the staff for all their work in producing a really beautiful golf course for us to play on and enjoy.”

Elandré Kruger won with 38 points, Robert Bryan was a close second with 36 points, followed by Alan Naude in third place with 35 points.

Longest day went to Jamie Supra with 16 points, nearest the pin on the fourth hole went to Robert Bryan, and the longest drive on the 18th hole went to Elandré Kruger.
