Golfers brave the heat

Pollak Park was in great condition, and the scores reflected a tight competition.

Many golfers braved the heat to participate in the Ginger’s Golf at Pollak Park Golf Club last Saturday.

“We had early tee-off times, but by the third hole, the sun was blazing.

“Pollak Park was in great condition, and the scores reflected a tight competition with many countouts to determine the winners in the various categories,” explained Harvey Scott from the club.

The winners were:

  • First: Christo Theodorou (39 points oco)
  • Second: Kobus van Zyl (39 points)
  • Third: Allan Morgan (37 points)
  • Milk Tart Doubles: Christo Theodorou and Dave Nagel (45 points oco)
  • King of the shorts: Benjamin Scott oco
  • Longest drive: Dwayne Visser
  • Nearest to the pin in 2: Bruce Gardner
  • Closest to the pin: Dylan Murray
  • Longest day: Matthew Adshade

“We all look forward to our last game of the year next Saturday to conclude an enjoyable season of golf and friendship,” he added.
