Eleven-year-old Richard Westake wakes up one morning with a lump in his throat, a lump that seems to grow with every second.
Eventually it is confirmed by doctors to be a second face, that resembles his own.
This comes as a shock to the young boy who must now live his life with his new, permanent companion, Rikky.
Witty, outspoken and rude, Rikky seems determined to ruin Richard’s life as he talks nonstop.
All the things Richard is too scared to say are said, uncensored, by his new head.
The story draws out your emotions as it shows you the pain endured by Richard and the challenges he has to face.
Readers will enjoy the path travelled by the two from resenting each other to ultimately learning to live with the astonishing situation that they have found themselves in.
There are parts of the book that seem exaggerated when it comes to Rikky and his personality, considering the suggested age, otherwise the book is a great read and entertaining if you have a good imagination.
