Ballyhoo claims the stage

Veteran band, Ballyhoo, will be performing live at Carnival City's Show Bar on March 14.

The show is set to be part of the festive St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Their array of songs spanning from the 1960s to the present will entertain the crowd from 9pm.

“We are excited to welcome Ballyhoo back to our stage as it has been a while since their last show here and we look forward to an evening of great music and entertainment, Ballyhoo style,” says Michelle Smith, the Marketing Manager at Carnival City.

The band originated in Ireland but has become a household name in South Africa for their smash hit ‘Man on the Moon’, which took them to the top of the charts in 1981, and is still going strong.

Other songs for which they are still remembered are ‘Air Incident’, ‘Rock ‘n Roll Party’, ‘Mama Microphone’, and ‘Don’t You Go Walking’, to mention only a few.

Collectively Ballyhoo holds a wealth of experience, which forms the foundation of one of the most dedicated and determined bands around today.

Since the band’s emergence in the late 1970s, they have traveled extensively throughout Africa, Europe and Asia, performing at private and corporate, music festivals and parties.
