When the food writer, Clara Brand, decides to make a fresh start in Cape Town, after her husband had been unfaithful to her with one of her best friends, she sets off on a journey of healing and revenge.
She experiences the different phases of her recovery process – anger, acceptance, the mending of ties with her ex-husband, the ongoing effort to ensure that her children have a normal upbringing – with dignity, a sense of humour and, of course, delicious food.
Dis Koué Kos, Skat is based on the novel by Marita van der Vyver (also published in English as Just Dessert, Dear)
