Residents are calling on the city to address safety risks linked to neglected substations.

Another unmaintained substation in Selection Park on Roxburg Street has residents concerned. This comes after resident Retha van Zyl saw an article in the Springs Advertiser about a similar unmaintained substation in the area. She told the publication that she has reported it to Ekurhuleni several times, but to no avail. The City of Ekurhuleni has still not responded to the Advertiser’s initial request for comment on the issue. Photo: Retha van Zyl
