Springs SPCA urges community to help stock up for winter
The colder months are approaching, and the Springs SPCA says its food stores are running low while demand continues to rise.
The SPCA Springs is calling on the community to help it stock up for winter.
The organisation’s manager, Annecia le Roux, stated that winter is their most difficult time of the year, and now their food stores are running low.
She added that every winter, the need grows while donations slow down.
“We don’t want to wait until our shelves are empty before asking for help. We want to go into the colder months prepared with full store rooms and enough food to keep every hungry tummy fed,” noted Le Roux.

Le Roux is appealing to the community to help them build up our winter reserves now so they can focus on keeping the animals warm, safe, and cared for during the toughest season of the year.
The community can donate dry and wet food donations for dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens and bulk bags of food to help them build up their winter stocks.
The manager highlighted that every bag, every tin, and every share truly makes a difference.
Donations can be dropped off at the society, at the corner of Ermelo and Townsend roads in Strubenvale.
