Jesus Christ Apostolic Church calls for more support as outreach programme expands

Church leaders are calling on more individuals and organisations to support the growing demand for food assistance.

The Jesus Christ Apostolic Church in the Springs CBD reached a significant milestone in its community soup kitchen outreach programme, with a 100% increase in beneficiaries during its outreach on May 27.

The soup kitchen, launched by the church in April, fed 50 beneficiaries with warm meals.

The church’s coordinator, Henry Kgomo, shared that the church extends its immense gratitude to all who consistently sacrifice their time, personal resources, and financial contributions to serve vulnerable and humble Springs community members.

Kgomo said that the community’s contribution has brought dignity and hope to those who are socio-economically vulnerable and has directly and indirectly contributed to this initiative.

“This milestone shows what faith, compassion, and community can achieve. But the need is growing, and we cannot do it alone,” said the church’s pastor,” Apostle Dika Mokoena.

The church is calling on individuals and organisations that are willing to join hands with them to support the vulnerable in local communities.
