Mpumalanga Department of Education welcomes teachers

The department is grateful and appreciates the crucial role played by teachers as the backbone of the growth and development agenda of our country and nation

The Mpumalanga Department of Education welcomes all the teachers (about 33 000) who reported for duty at schools within the province on Monday, February 1 after a well-deserved school holiday break.

The department also takes this opportunity to reassure all teachers within the Mpumalanga Province of its undivided support throughout the 2021 academic year and beyond.

The department is grateful and appreciates the crucial role played by teachers as the backbone of the growth and development agenda of our country and nation.

It is for this reason that teachers will always be valued and appreciated by the department at all times.

Equally, the department wishes to state its position that temporal teachers, teachers appointed on a contractual basis and Grade R practitioners will receive their January salaries from Thursday, February 4.

This payment process follows the reinstatement of their employment contracts in line with the resolutions of the Provincial Education Labour Relations Council of December 8, 2020.
