This is how the basins looked at Witbank Provincial Hospital on Wednesday, May 11.

By Wednesday afternoon, May 11 the toilet doors were locked as they were overflowing with faeces and urine.
With nowhere else to go people started using the basins in the bathrooms.

“I have to lock up my office to go use the toilet by the petrol station, we as the staff members are even battling now,” said a nurse at Witbank Provincial Hospital.

A hospital it is supposed to be a sterile environment but not having water can cause more diseases within the hospital. Nurses and doctors cannot wash their hands.

An email was sent to the Emalahleni City Council and a comment is still pending from them about the water situation.
