
It is fortunate that not everyone was on holiday, as the SAPS made a number of drug related arrests in and around the Witbank area.
On December 20, a man was found in the possession of dagga. Xolani Kgadi (25) was travelling to Old Coronation at 22:45, when two constables on duty, thought he looked suspicious. When he was searched by the officers, they found dagga in his possession.
In the early morning of December 31 a man by the name of Johannes Gwishiri (53), was arrested in Tasbet Park, after his home was raided and various drugs were found in his possession. He was arrested and charged with drug possession and dealing. Another person held for the possession of drugs is, Frank Moyeny, who was found in the Zaaihoek Road area with dagga in his possession on January 3 at 01:30.
In a more recent occurrence, Tebogo Mokwena (30), was found with the possession of eight balls of dagga and four plastics of pinch, also known as Nyaope. Mokwena was found in the Old Coronation area, after a tip-off on January 5 at 22:30. He was arrested and charged with the possession of and dealing of drugs.
The suspects have all appeared in court and their cases have been reminded for further investigations.
