Diesel truck hijacked

Vosman Police members are investigating a case of a hijacked diesel truck.

It was reported that the driver of the truck left the depot at Ferrobank, with the intention of delivering at Machadodorp.
The incident happened on Monday, January 6 at about 16:45.

A few metres from the depot, the truck reportedly developed some mechanical problems and it started to lose power. The driver stopped the truck on the road and put on the hazard lights to warn other road users. After that he said he was going to put the red triangles out.

He was approached by an unknown man who pointed a firearm at him. The driver was ordered out of the truck while the suspect went to the other side of the truck. The driver tried to run away, but he was caught in his attempt and another suspect was called and they drove with him until they got to Mathysloop, where he was dropped and they then drove away with the truck.
The value of the Mercedes truck is R500 000.

The Police is investigation a case of hijacking and nobody has been arrested and the truck has not been found yet.
