De Jager appeared in court on March 18 where acting Judge Chuma Cossie ruled that the accused remain in custody until his appearance on Wednesday, March 26.
De Jager has pleaded not guilty to killing 16-year-old Charmaine Mare from Ga-Nala last year January, and also not guilty to raping and killing 18 year old Hiltina Alexander in 2008.
On February 27, De Jager took the stand and spent a week telling the court about his version of events in his defence.
With regard to Mare, he testified that she died in an accidental fatal fall in his bathroom and that he then dismembered her body and set her torso alight in a panic and state of shock.
In his testimony he told the court how Mare was always lazing around and was on her phone as she hardly left her room.
De Jager is accused of killing and dismembering her body. Her arms and legs were cut off and the rest of her torso was set alight.
Mare was staying with De Jager and his girlfriend, her daughter and his son in Kraaifontein.
