She needed a lift as it was too early to find a taxi. She decided she would hike, she had done it before and there was no harm done.
On April 4, the 36-year-old woman left her house to make her way to Bronkhorstspruit at about 05:30. As there would have been no taxi available at the rank for her, she went to a hiking spot under a bridge along the Ferrobank Road on the N4.
She said that a black BMW stopped for her and the man driving the vehicle offered her a lift, as he said he was going to Pretoria. Not far into their journey the man allegedly pointed a gun at her and demanded that she give him her belongings and money.
She did not hesitate and did as she was told. Apparently once the man had her possessions, he told her to jump into the front seat.
The man allegedly turned into some bushes and told the woman to hide as they were driving along a gravel path.
They apparently stopped in an isolated area and the woman alleges that the man told her to take her clothes off, still at gunpoint, and he raped her.
The man allegedly only let the woman free around 16:30 on the day. She did not proceed to go to Bronkhorstspruit but she went to Vosman Police Station to report the crime. Suspect is unknown.
