Mr Edward Hasanbashaj had a shock when he got to his liquor store, Park Café Liquors, on Thursday, April 10.
He went inside and discovered that he had been burgled. Upon his arrival at the shop Hasanbashaj said that he noticed that his lock was broken, but did not read too much into it as it could have been just an attempt to get inside the shop.
He said that he opened the door as usual for business and the shock came when he looked up and looked around the shop, he realised his stock was taken.
The burglary could have occurred on April 9 in the early morning hours.
There was apparently no other damage to the shop.
Hasanbashaj said, “It is not the first time they break in but they do it after a long time and I was almost very happy that it won’t happen this year.”
He said that the stock that was taken from his store amounted to more that R10 000 and about 55 bottles of hard liquor were stolen.
The suspects were not seen by anyone during their break-in and Hasanbashaj said that he could not think of anyone who might have wanted to steal from his shop in Van Deventer Street.
