
On April 18 a vehicle was broken into in Thubelihle. The man had gone to visit friends for the evening and upon returning to his vehicle he found the door wide open.
All his documents were strung across the floor, his cellular phone, and sunglasses had been stolen. The stolen items are estimated to be valued at R5 500.
On April 19 a man’s home was broken into. He had gone to eMalahleni for the day and returned to find his front door forcefully opened.
Burglars stole a laptop and three cellular phones, all to the value of R6 000.
That same day Kriel Police arrested a 37-year-old man for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The police were out on patrol when they noticed a green Nissan driving across two lanes and failing to stop at a stop street.
The police were able to pull the driver over and arrested him for driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver appeared in Kriel Magistrate’s Court and was released on bail.
