Pregnant teen killed

A woman allegedly killed her niece after she found out that she was pregnant.

A woman in Extension 18 was called out by community members after they had discovered that she allegedly murdered her niece on April 27 after she noticed that she was pregnant. According to neighbours, the teenager is orphaned and was left in the care of her aunt.

A concerned community member brought the news of the girl’s death.
“The community is now looking for her, it is not known where she is but she has not been arrested as yet, as far as we know,” said the member who asked to remain anonymous.

Neighbours said they heard the girl screaming in the house and then she went silent. A day after her screams were heard, she was found dead inside the house.

It is alleged that her aunt tried to give the girl an abortion by using unknown objects. The blood loss could have been the cause of death but police are still investigating.

The aunt’s whereabouts are not known and police are looking for her for of her own safety, as community members in the area have allegedly made it clear that should they find her, they would take the law into their own hands and ‘deal’ with her.
