A 13-year-old girl from eMalahleni recently became the victim of this horrendous crime, when she was allegedly raped by two men near Corridor Hill. It was reported that the girl was walking home, towards the Seekoeiwater plots, with her mother and aunt on Friday night May 9 when they were approached by two men.
The men allegedly took two cell phones from the women and demanded money. After the women told them they didn’t have any money and tried to make a run for it, the suspects grabbed the young girl and proceeded to rape her in the veldt.
A case was opened at the Witbank Police Station and police are determined to find the two suspects. They asked anyone who can identify the suspects or provide more information that may help to catch these criminals to contact the station.
The community is urged to speak up against rape and violence and help protect women – especially children.
