A couple of women have been terrorising men with the modus operandi of robbing them. “They are good looking women and you would not think that they could do something like that”, said a victim of the women who chose to remain anonymous for his own protection. The females are allegedly picking up their targets in night clubs and other social gathering places in eMalahleni.
On May 20, their victim was chosen from a crowd of more than 5 dozen people when he offered to buy the ladies some drinks. He said that he was out at Value Meat in Ackerville when he spotted the two women and approached them. As the night was still young, our victim said that he offered that they go and continue the evening at his place. Little did he know that he would be losing everything, including his car.
“They told me their names, one of them is Mbali and I cannot remember the other ones name. They looked like they were not older than 26 years of age”, added the victim. According to the victim they sat until the early hours of the morning and he even offered them a place to sleep. When he woke up in the next morning he said that he thought he was in the wrong house. “My appliances were gone and so were my wallet and car keys. As soon as I looked out the door, my car was gone”, said the victim.
This is not the first case that has been reported and more are expected to surface. The police ask that males picking up women be careful about who they allow to escort them home. They also suspect that the women could be using a drug to make sure their victims are passed out before they rob them of their possessions.
The modus operandi of these women is that they will entertain you at a social gathering and will probably not be reluctant to go home with one if they are asked to do so. Men are urged to be on the lookout for women who voluntarily offer themselves as companions.
