They not only managed to arrest civilians on the wrong side of the law, but in the past two weeks they have also conducted a roadblock where a stolen vehicle was recovered.
Vosman police made a total of 49 arrests in the past week. Seven people were arrested for theft, whilst a further 13 were arrested for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, one was held for fraud, four were arrested for being in possession of stolen property, and seven were detained for being in the possession of drugs.
Altogether 11 arrests were made for thefts, three were house breaking and theft, two were stock theft, five were coal theft and the remaining one was a copper theft.
Four people were held for shoplifting and two for common robbery. One person was arrested in each of the following offences: domestic violence, arson, violation of a court order and the last for an illegal connection.
The vehicle that was recovered during the road block, held at the Clewer main road on July 11, was allegedly stolen at Villiera, Gauteng.
The driver of the vehicle claimed that he bought his vehicle and is still paying his instalment on it. The vehicle has since been impounded and a docket for investigation has been opened.
