Maintenance left ditches after digging

Residents in De Waal Street, along with Democratic Alliance Councillor Marianne Venter, are fed-up with work that the municipality has not completed.

On August 12 some work was done in the street and the municipality workers who had worked on the pipes dug out holes to get to the pipes. After the job was done, the heaps of sand were left in the street and along the fences of some of the residences. The ditches have not been covered.

On September 1 residents complained to Cllr Venter, who also allegedly tried to get a hold of the municipality but to no success.
“We are tired of having to remind the municipality of the work they have to do. We are not here for that as councillors,” said Venter.
The municipality did not comment regarding this matter.
