The following day when dropping his wife off at the house, Sutherland walked into the yard and saw that his Nissan bakkie, which he had been working on as a project, had been stolen along with a number of tools.
His tenant who had been staying at his home was also gone, along with his possessions.
Sutherland called his tenant’s workplace only to find that the man had not been to work for the past week.
