“It’s a chilly feeling when the alarm goes off in the Mall and a voice over the intercom tells you to evacuate the building due to an emergency. The evacuation was handled well,” said a shopper at Highveld Mall.
The evacuation went calmly as shoppers and tenants proceeded to the dedicated assembly points.
“The Highveld Mall employees must know how to keep the shoppers safe so it’s a good thing that they do emergency drills. Highveld Mall is the safest place to shop,” said Ebrahim Lutheti a car guard at Highveld Mall.
Practicing an evacuation during a non emergency is necessary to educate and train employees to perform a safe and quick evacuation.
It’s a valuable procedure in an emergency situation.
