Sewage water has been running out of the open manhole and into the street for several weeks and, although a concrete slab has been placed over the hole to prevent people from falling in, the stench and the running water is still seeping out of the hole.
Several businesses in the area have reported the problem to the municipality with no results.
“We contacted them many times, but they just don’t bother,” said the owner of a nearby butchery. The parking lot of a hardware store is right next to the sewerage drain. The stench and possible health hazard could affect businesses in the area.
“I drove through the water and my car smelled like sewage for two days,” said a business owner about the water running down the road.
The municipality has been contacted regarding the matter, although they have not yet responded.
