Ingrid Jonker Street in a state of devastation

A concerned resident living in Ingrid Jonker Street has had enough with the council and the lack of maintenance.

On Saturday morning, February 7 a pipe burst right in front of Ms Jo-anne Enid Lambert house and she reported it a couple of times to the council that day.

On Sunday, February 8 at 19:00 people were sent out to the hole and nothing was done about the burst pipe.
So by Monday, February 9 Lambert had enough about the hole after she had reported it over and over again.
“Really what is going to become of this town if around every corner it looks like this,” said Lambert.
A photo was posted on Mr Theo van Vuuren’s Facebook page and Lambert got this reply: “The sidewalks are private property we will attend if we have time and people to assist!!”

Lambert will continue to complain about the situation until it is sorted out as she has a baby that needs to be bathed and has certain needs.
“We pay our rates and taxes and this is what we have to sit with,” said Lambert.

A comment from Emalahleni City Council is still pending.
