Golfers back Hoërskool Patriot fundraising drive at Witbank Golf Club

Various organisations came together with community members for a fun day of golf to raise funds for Hoërskool Patriot.

Hoërskool Patriot, in partnership with various local organisations, hosted a successful golf day at Witbank Golf Club on August 14 to raise much-needed funds for the school.

According to Anica Kock from the school’s marketing department, the event served the dual purpose of raising awareness and generating funds.

“The main purpose of the event was to raise funds to to cover school fees for vulnerable learners, purchase extra textbooks or upgrade facilities,” said Kock. “We also wanted to get the school’s name out there and potentially identify future sponsors for our events.”

Community contributes to the school’s goals

In addition to community members, participants in the golf day included representatives of various local organisations, with additional support from Laerskool Klipfontein.

Everyone who took part paid a registration fee, which formed the foundation of the fundraising. Additional funds were raised through the sale of R20 tickets for a wheelbarrow raffle.

Fantastic prizes awarded

Winning golfers were awarded two four-day getaways. Additional prizes included as cooler bags, gift baskets and jackets.

“Everything went very well, and we are really grateful for the mild weather,” said Kock. “It was a really good day, and everyone enjoyed themselves.”

She expressed heartfelt thanks to all of the sponsors and supporters.
