‘Long fingers’ behind bars

Witbank SAPS in co-operation with the Community Policing Forum (CPF) patrolling teams made 83 arrests in the past week.

A total of seven people were arrested over the long weekend for drinking and driving.
Altogether 13 shoplifting arrests were made and five for general theft. Six assault arrests and nine for the possession and dealing in drugs.

Two suspects were arrested for fraud and 12 for the possession of suspected stolen property. Eight arrests were made for the malicious damage to property and two for housebreaking and theft.
One suspect was arrested for armed robbery and seven kidnapping cases were made. Two arrests were made for the contravention of court order and one was arrested for pretending to be a police official.

One suspect was arrested for illegal immigration and two for domestic violence, while there were two other suspects arrested for attempted murder and two for the possession of a dangerous weapon. One arrest was made for obstructing police whilst on duty.
