On Tuesday morning, June 9 it is alleged that five unknown suspect were hanging around Meat Discounter at 07:00.
One employee walked into the shop, when the suspects walked in.
Three of the suspects were armed with firearms, they ordered the management inside the office and the safe was opened.
“Luckily none of the staff members sustained serious injuries, just a few slaps to the face. Business returned back to normal once the police had done their investigation,” said the owner of the shop.
An undisclosed amount of money was taken, no shots were fired and nobody was injured.
The suspects left on foot towards Extension 8. Police arrive on scene and the investigation started.
On Wednesday morning, June 10 members from Witbank SAPS sat outside the shop when the shop opened its doors to the public again.
