Two families at Lynnville had to endure two days with sewerage flowing from the drain.
The two families at Luthuli Street in Lynnville had to bear the stench of the sewerage from the drain. In one of the family houses the sewerage flowed from the inside toilet. The problem started on Friday, February 19 at about 16:00 and continued until Saturday at about 11:00. Both families stated that the matter was reported to municipal workers who were on standby and they said they were promised it will be fixed. The workers never pitched up as promised.

“Sewerage water flowed into our yards and it made our lives very miserable in a very short period of time. We had to prevent the children from playing in the dirty, smelly water. We reported the matter on both days, but nobody came to fix the problem,” said members of the families.

The toilets were not working as water flowed into the yard and out in the street. One of the family members said she had to drop everything and try to clean the mess after the water had subsided and stopped flowing from the drain.
