Leaks lead to problems

A family living in Bassoon Street fear the worst as their perimeter wall appears to be on its last legs.

A family living in Bassoon Street fear the worst as their perimeter wall appears to be on its last legs.
According to the home owner, a deep hole was recently dug just outside their wall on the sidewalk by municipal workers who had come to repair a leak.

This gaping hole was left open and the leak not repaired but the troubles don’t end there as the hole is situated right up against the wall just next to the driveway into the yard.

“I have been renting here for three years and this has happened at least eight times now,” said the home owner, who wishes to remain anonymous.

A huge hole was dug out and left unattended by municipal workers lacking the replacement pipes for the pipe break.

She reported to have tried contacting the municipality on Monday and was told that they would need to acquire the pipe from Ogies, she called back moments later only to be told they have no stock of the pipes needed to make the repairs.
Now she is awaiting to hear if piping will be made readily available to carry out the repairs, for the meantime all they can do is steer clear of the hole which has since filled up with water, surrounded by the mounds of dug up earth.
