Pastor Thabiso Msiza embraces new chapter as he enters his 50s
From national television screens to local pulpits, a Mpumalanga master of ceremonies prepares for his next chapter in the classroom.
Our Perfect Wedding two-time MC Pastor Thabiso Msiza is focusing on adapting to changing times as he prepares for his 50s.
The 47-year-old eMalahleni leader, who describes himself as a ‘pastor by function rather than title’, said his primary focus right now is on staying relevant and relatable in a fast-changing world.
“My life has taken a swift shift in direction as I get ready for my 50s,” Msiza said. “I do not want to be a grandpa who does not understand the assignment. Times are changing thick and fast, and it is our responsibility to stay relevant and relatable.”
Expanding ministry beyond the pulpit
Looking ahead, Msiza plans to expand his ministry beyond the pulpit and into education by becoming a teacher.
“I enjoy the influence God has afforded me on Sundays, but I could be so much more midweek as well,” he said.
As he prepares for his next phase, Msiza said he continues to direct proceedings at major community gatherings.
Over the years, he has built a strong reputation as a master of ceremonies, directing events such as the Joy of Gospel 2022 alongside Metro FM’s Thami Ngubeni and an eMalahleni prayer service ahead of the 2024 elections.

Milestones on national television
He also gained national recognition for serving as master of ceremonies twice on the popular television show Our Perfect Wedding, in 2018 and 2022.
Reflecting on those milestones, Msiza noted that the 2022 appearance was particularly special because it was the Metro FM Valentine Wedding Giveaway won by a local eMalahleni couple.
“Those are basically the major events that I’ve done,” he said.
Msiza expressed gratitude to his family for their ongoing support and encouraged the youth of eMalahleni to take proactive steps towards their goals.
“There is a Chinese proverb that says ‘a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’, so get out there and do your best and God will do the rest,” he said.
