Sewage spill tended to swiftly

Just a slight tinge of the sewage smell could be picked up that Saturday morning as runners lined up for the Great Train Race 2016.

The sewage leak that occurred on Main Street just outside Witbank Railway Station was taken care of seemingly overnight.

On Friday morning, August 19 the sewage leak that erupted was reported to the Emalahleni Municipality and municipal workers spent the better part of the afternoon and evening working to alleviate the problem ahead of the Great Train Race 2016.

The pool of sewage was taken care of overnight, allowing for an unhindered start to the Great Train Race 2016.

The sewage spill was put to a stop and a tanker was brought out to suck up the remaining sewage that formed a pool on the corner of Main Street just outside the station.
