
The tracks of the thieves and the bike just vanished into the mielie field.
Mr Terry Garnett-Bennett’s Honda 250XL was stolen from his yard, thieves made their way through a mielie field to gain access to his yard on October 8.
“We didn’t even realise it was gone until that Saturday afternoon when we came out to light the braai and I realised there is a lot more room for chairs here,” said Garnett-Bennett.
According to Garnett-Bennett the thieves made their way through his neighbour’s meilie field before they reached his perimeter fence, they then cut through the fencing and the electric fencing.
“They made their way through my orchard to the bike which was standing on the back veranda. What amazes me is that the alarm system to the electric fencing didn’t even go off, in fact they cut through all 13 wires,” said Garnett-Bennett.

After discovering that his bike was gone Garnett-Bennett followed the tracks of the thieves out into the mielie field,
“the tracks just picked up and vanished, they must have loaded it onto a bakkie or something. I have had that bike for 20 years now and it’s never given me trouble, I used it on the plot to get around,” he ended
