Grandfather case remanded

After the fourth appearances in Witbank Magistrates Court for the grandfather that was arrested for the rape of his eight-year-old granddaughter the case has been remanded

After the fourth appearances in Witbank Magistrates Court for the grandfather that was arrested for the rape of his eight-year-old granddaughter the case has been remanded.

On Wednesday, October 26 the grandfather appeared before the magistrate once again on charges of rape. The case was heard and it was remanded until Tuesday, November 8

It’s alleged that the mother of the eight-year-old left her daughter in the lounge with her grandfather on Sunday, October 9 where he allegedly raped her.

They were all sitting in the lounge together, that’s when the daughter’s mother notice the grandfather’s hand move slowly across the back of the girl.

She suspected something had happened and that is when she questioned her daughter about what her grandfather had done.

The mother asked the school teacher to find out what had happened. The eight-year-old then told the teacher that her grandfather touched her private parts.

He also allegedly told her to take off her underwear so that he could take pictures of her. Her grandfather then gave her sweets and money.
