Counselling available for drug abusers seeking help
“This is not something that will fizzle out, we aim to make a lasting difference,”

Last month a drug awareness campaign took place that was organised by Yusuf Bhamjee and supported by the SAPS and the Witbank Muslim Jamaat.
Speakers from the Crescent of Hope Rehab Centre in Magaliesburg also attended the event and spoke about the horrific realities of drugs. Mr Bhamjee has been inundated with phone calls asking for help.
“This is not something that will fizzle out, we aim to make a lasting difference,” said Mr Bhamjee about the drug awareness campaign and the counselling sessions that has recently been established.
In Lynnville they are hosting counselling to aid recovering drug abusers as well as their families as drug abuse is never an isolated incident. Parents and family members of drug abusers are also encouraged to attend these sessions.
They are also hosting a counselling group at the Mosque in Die Heuwel. They have managed to help a young man who has been in and out of rehab centres. Recently he reported that he has been doing better at the Crescent of Hope Rehab Centre than any other centre he has been to in the past.
The sessions will take place at Izodela community development hall next to lunch box Lynville on Tuesdays from 19:00 to 20:00 and at the new mosque site on Wednesdays corner Nicol Street and Dhalia street 19:00 to 20:00
If you would like to know more about these counselling sessions contact Yusuf on 072 458 7426.
