The operations were carried out throughout the weekend of November 18 and 19. Police patrolled the Central Business District where they conducted stop and searches, they also inspected various taverns and businesses in the area.

During the operations they confiscated dagga and a number of knives, no arrests were made though as suspects dumped their belongings as police entered the premises.

“Police were commended by tavern owners as well as clients for their involvement in the community,” said Sgt David Ratau, Witbank Police communications liaison.
