Man dies while playing sports

Soccer is a favourite past time for most, for one man it was his last moments.

On Wednesday, January 11 Kriel Police received a distressing call from Kriel Power Medical Centre.
On their arrival on scene at about 13:00 in the afternoon they found paramedics who had done their best to revive the man, but he was declared dead.

According to an eye witness, a co-worker, the 34-year-old man was playing soccer during his lunch hour, while taking part in the sport he suddenly collapsed. Attempts were made to revive the man however he could not be revived and was declared dead on scene by Langamed Emergency Management paramedics.

The deceased man was taken to Bethal Pathology and his next of kin were contacted. He has not yet been formerly identified by a next of kin. Kriel Police have since opened a inquest docket regarding the man’s untimely death.
