A case of rape was opened at the Witbank Police Station following a 20-year-old woman that was raped by a man living in the same yard as her.
This incident happened on Saturday, January 14 around 12:00.
The police report read that a 36-year-old woman left her children with the other tenants when she went to a funeral at Phola.
The following day the son called her and said one of the tenants was here and wanted to speak to her.
She then advised the person looking for her to rather WhatsApp her. In the messages the woman mentioned that a man renting a room at the backyard touched her bum. The report states that the woman responded by saying she was coming home.
When she arrived she asked her 20-year-old daughter if the man in question did anything and she said he touched her bum and breasts.
She asked her daughter if she slept with him and she said no.
She then went to confront the accused and asked why he touched her daughter and he said nothing, but his wife allegedly apologized to her.
When she was doing the laundry on Friday she found a R100 note in her daughter’s pants and asked what the money was for and who she got it from, she replied and said she got it from the man she slept with, who is the same man that touched her breasts and bum.
The 20-year-old woman claimed that the man pushed her to the bed and took off her pants and raped her. Afterwards she was given a R100 and the accused said nothing to her thereafter. The age of the accused was not mentioned in the report.
