A young teenager was raped in Klarinet, she was on her way to buy bread for her mother at the local shop.

The incident happened on Monday, January 30 at about 16:30 when the 15-year-old’s mother asked her to go buy bread.
She was given money and she started walking towards the local shop when an unknown man called her over to a salon.
She went where the unknown man called her to and he allegedly bought her a beer, making her drink it.

Once she had finished drinking it, the suspect then told her to go to her place. So they walked together even though they walked apart from each other.

When they got to his house, he undressed her and raped her. He then raped her again into the early morning hours.
That morning he told her that she must not tell anyone and that she is very nice.
A case of rape was opened at Witbank Police Station.

The management of the police in Mpumalanga Province is ecstatic and applauds the members of the Family Violence, Sexual Offences and Child Protection (FCS) Unit in Balfour for a sterling hard work that led to a rapist referred to jail to languish for a lengthy period of time.

This comes after a 38-year-old man; Rogers Hlongwane was sentenced to an additional 65 years effective jail term by the Evander Regional Court when he appeared on Monday, January 30, for two counts of rape and robbery with aggravating circumstances. The effective 65 years jail term includes two life sentences for the rapes and 15 for robbery.

Hlongwane’s rule of trepidation came to a halt when on June 14, 2013, he was sentenced to forty years in jail for other rape cases. During supplementary investigation, it emerged that he was also accountable for the other two he was recently convicted hence his extra sentence.

The court also acknowledged the allegiance of the investigator for working tirelessly and presented ardent as well as indispensable evidence that assisted the court to prove beyond reasonable doubt and meted such a hefty sentence.
