A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death, and a 29-year-old man died from gunshot wounds.

A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death, and a 29-year-old man died from gunshot wounds.

On February 8 police received a call informing them of a murder that had taken place in Old Coronation.

On their arrival they were greeted by provincial ambulance services who took them to the body of the deceased. Mr Meshack Mawelele had been shot three times, once in the lower abdomen, once through the upper arm and the last in the chest.

The 29-year-old man was formerly identified by his next of kin on Friday February 9, by his brother Mr Thomas Sondladla. Sondladla was unavailable for comment regarding his brother’s untimely death.

On February 11 a 22-year-old man was murdered in cold blood after being stabbed.
The young man was murdered in Masakhane, he was stabbed in the upper chest by an assailant known to the community.
On police arrival the man had already been declared dead by paramedics. He has not yet been formerly identified by next of kin.

“Police request the public to come forward with any information that might help in the apprehending of the suspects involved in both separate murders,” said Sgt David Ratau, Witbank Police communications.
