Ogies Police arrested and laid three charges against a suspect.
On Thursday, February 9 members of Ogies Crime Prevention arrested one of three suspects that attempted to escape police custody.
The arrest took place at about 21:10 at Iraq section, Phola.
Police confiscated an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and dagga after they arrested a suspect in Phola.As Constables Zaire Mkhabele, Nhlanhla Monama, Thabang Mabena and Busi Ndala closed in on the suspects they attempted to flee, police however managed to arrest one of the suspects who was found in possession of a firearm, on further searching the premises police discovered another firearm under the bed. They also found a black plastic bag full of loose dagga with the firearm under the bed.
Police charged the suspect with resisting arrest, possession of unlicensed firearms and live ammunition, and possession of dagga.
The exhibits were booked in at Phola Police Station. The Police are investigating the case and are still in search of the other two suspects.
