Trevor is Caxton’s top photographer

Wherever you see WITBANK NEWS’ Trevor Aingworth around, it’s probably with his camera right by his side ready to take yet another winning photo.
His extraordinary eye for a good photo was awarded on Thursday, March 16 when he was crowned Photographer of the Year at the 2016 Caxton Excellence Awards, held at Silverstar Casino, Krugersdorp. He was also a runner-up in the best sports photograph category.

Trevor Aingworth won the photographer of the year award at the 2016 Caxton Excellence Awards on Thursday, March 16.
138 community newspapers from all over the country and part of the Caxton Media Group participated in this prestigious competition.
Those in attendance were dressed to impress in keeping with the theme: ‘Steam Punk’.
With Trevor winning this award, WITBANK NEWS can now boast with the best community press photographers all round with three top photography awards in the bag.

Samantha Traill (left) was a runner-up in the best hard news photograph category and Zita Goldswain was runner-up in the best regular column category as well as best sports photograph and best human interest photograph categories at the 2016 Caxton Excellence Awards on Thursday, March 16.
Zita Goldswain won the Forum of Community Journalist (FCJ) Photographer of the Year 2016 and Samantha Traill the Oscar Frewin Awards Photographer of the Year 2016.
Both Zita and Samantha also shined at the Caxton awards with Zita runner-up in the best sports photograph and best human interest photograph categories and Samantha runner-up in the best hard news photograph category. Zita was also mentioned in the writing categories by being a runner-up in the best regular column category.
