A dog in Die Heuwel has been killed after she was poisoned with Two-Step and the suspects tried to break in into the house, but never came right.
The incident occurred in a complex where four houses are located in Die Heuwel.
When a husband and wife returned home from their holiday, they found their family dog dead in the garden.
“We were expecting her to bark at us with excitement as we were away. Except we found her lying in the garden, with foam coming out of her mouth,” said one of the house owners.
A plastic bag with Two-Step was found in the flower bed.
“We just had her fur cut before we went away. It’s a terrible way to end your holiday, having to bury your family pet. She was so old, she never even had any teeth left,” continued the home owner.
The house four houses up from where the dog was poisoned the woman heard people whistling to each other within the complex at 00:20 on Monday morning, March 27.
They managed to break open the sliding door at the house where the dog was poisoned, but the never managed to enter the house as the burglar-proofing stopped them.
To enter the complex there is a gate, but the residents living within the complex suspect that they are climbing over the wall to enter.
