
An 22-year-old man was reported to have drowned at a lodge along the Old Middelburg Road.
On April 1 police received a call from Witbank Hospital with regards to a young boy that passed away in the hospital after he had drowned.
According to police the boy was brought to the hospital by family members after he had drowned at the lodge while at an outing with friends, he later passed away in hospital, as described by hospital staff.
The young boy, Sithembiso Nkosi was formally identified by next of kin, his uncle, Mr Norman Lentsane.
“We are looking for answers as to what had happened, and we are waiting for the police investigation to give us those answers,” said Lentsane.
Nkosi completed school in 2015, a former student of Witbank High, he was a well behaved man who respected his parents and showed good discipline.
The funeral service will take place at the family’s home in Kwa-Guqa Extension 10 on Saturday from 07:30 with the service conducted by United Family in Christ, and will proceed to Kromdraai Cemetery at 09:00.
