The men arrested by Kriel Police last week for hijacking remain in custody.
On April 7 Kriel Police received a call from a tracking company with regards to a hijacked Volkswagen Polo Classic heading towards the town of Ga-Nala.
The arresting officers, Capt Patrick Nhlambo and Const Mlungiseleli Sihlobo, responded with haste and arrested the two suspects that evening at about 21:05.
On April 18 the two suspects appeared in court for possession of a hijacked vehicle and possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
The case was remanded for bail application for Monday, April 24. The two men remain in custody.
