Hoërskool Kriel learner seeks sponsorship for educational tour

Ga-Nala family appeals for help to send 14-year-old to the USA.

A 14-year-old Ga-Nala resident, Boitumelo Mnisi, is chasing a dream that has earned her an invitation to the USA – despite her battle with kidney failure.

Boitumelo, a dedicated Hoërskool Kriel learner, has been selected to participate in an educational tour to the USA – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn, experience new cultures, and broaden her academic horizons – but she needs financial support to get there.

“My journey has not been an easy one,” Boitumelo says. “I live with a life-threatening condition, but I made a promise to myself that my illness will never define who I am or determine how far I can go.”

Boitumelo has never used her condition as an excuse to give up on her schooling. She continues to work hard academically, believing that education is the key to changing her life.

“This tour means more than words can express. For a girl from Ga-Nala living with this illness, it is proof that dreams are still valid,” she said.

Her family is appealing to the community, local businesses, private sector partners, and good Samaritans to help make her dream a reality.

“We humbly appeal to the public to come to the rescue of our child. She has been invited to the USA for an educational school tour, and we need financial assistance to get her there. Any support would be a kind and meaningful gesture for our child,” said Boitumelo’s parents.

Funds are needed to cover flights, visa applications, accommodation, meals, tour fees, travel insurance, and medical support.

“My dreams are bigger than my challenges. I hope my story inspires other young people not to give up. I still have many goals I want to achieve,” she added.
