Vosman police reported that they are investigating a case of murder.
The police reported that on Thursday, May at about 12:00 on the Old Pretoria road, the body of a man was found with assault wounds over his entire body.
After visiting the crime scene, investigation revealed that the victim was Dumisane Mashiane of Lynnville. Information retrieved and followed from the scene led to the arrest of three suspects aged between 26 and 31 years.
According to the police, the information on hand suggested that in total there were seven suspects who committed the act and others are still on the run. From the leads followed, it appears that the victim was caught stealing from a house and was heavily assaulted. They further took him to Black Top open space where he was further assaulted and left at the Old Pretoria road next to Costas.
All three suspects appeared before Witbank Magistrate Court on Monday, May 22 and were remanded in custody and will appear again on Monday, May for a bail application.
Mashiane was 25 years old and was well known in the area.
