Live Traffic Group warns of rising highway spiking incidents

Motorists travelling between Mpumalanga and Gauteng are urged to stay vigilant following a spate of highway spiking incidents near Bronkhorstspruit.

More spiking incidents were reported last night (October 23) on the Mpumalanga-Gauteng border towards Bronkhorstspruit.

The Live Traffic Group reported three incidents involving spikes placed on the road.

“In one of the incidents, a driver was allegedly assaulted by the robbers who placed the spikes on the road,” said a member of the Live Traffic Group, who wished to remain anonymous.

The Spike Community WhatsApp group once again urged motorists not to drive on the N4 highway at night and to remain vigilant when travelling.

Trac N4 has repeatedly urged motorists to avoid driving at night.
