DA Councillor Marianne Venter has been fighting for the last 15 years to get Diane Street closed in Ward 24 and it finally happened.

DA Councillor Marianne Venter has been fighting for the last 15 years to get Diane Street closed in Ward 24 and it finally happened.

On Friday, October 13 Emalahleni Council employees arrived in Diane Street with a barricade to close off the road.
Diane Street is just off OR Tambo Street, and is a tricky intersection.

Diane Street is finally closed.

The road was closed on Friday afternoon temporarily.

On Saturday, October 14 it was back to work for Emalahleni Council employees who closed the road off permanently.
The reason for the road closure is because many terrible accidents have occurred at this intersection over the years.

DA Councillor Marianne Venter stands as she watches how Emalahleni Council Employees close off Diane Street in Ward 24 on Friday, October 13.

“This was one fight that I would not stop fighting. I am so happy this has finally been done,” said Councillor Marianne Venter.
